7. Nicolae Furdui Iancu (n. 1955)

Născut în 1955, într-o comună din ţara Moţilor, Sohodol, crescut şi educat în Abrud, Nicolae Furdui Iancu este, fără îndoială, un exponent demn al acestei regiuni încărcate nu numai de istorie, ci şi de cel mai autentic folclor românesc.
Absolvent al Liceului Pedagogic din Abrud, a urmat cursurile Institutului Pedagogic din Oradea, pe care l-a absolvit în 1979. A profesat meseria de dascăl până în 1989, când a renunţat, dedicându-se în întregime cântecului popular. Primul contact cu scena l-a avut la vârsta de 17 ani, cu orchestra Liceului unde învăţa. Apoi, la Oradea, student fiind, a participat în 1979 la Festivalul Artei Studenţeşti, unde a obtinut premiul întâi.
Dacă ar fi fost îndrumat la timp, ar fi ales muzica de operă. Este un mare admirator al “tripletei de aur”: Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras.
Nicolae Furdui Iancu, om de o mare valoare artistică şi sufletească, este şi va fi mereu o mare stea şi un simbol veşnic al folclorului românesc autentic din toate timpurile.

Dintre toţi aceşti cântăreţi pe care i-am prezentat, Furdui Iancu ocupă cel mai mare loc în sufletul meu. Îmi plac atât de multe cântece, încât chiar nu ştiu ce să aleg… Cred că are cele mai frumoase cântece patriotice…
